Leg Reg II & bits
You may have noticed - if indeed you care - that I've not been blogging for the past few days (I've had a week off work and have been busy doing various things) and so I thought I'd quickly mention these:
- The dreaded Leg Reg Bill (aka the "Abolition of Parliament Act") appears to have made a comeback in the recently announced planned changes to our constitution (pdf).
- They Work for You have launched a campaign to make it easier for the public to search Bills that are under consideration by our Lords 'n' Masters
- It seems that the earlier post regarding the scrapping of the Parliament protest laws was correct. The only question now seems to be when and how. Direct action, i.e. taking the piss, ridiculing and making laws unworkable does indeed have an impact. A well-deserved round of applause to all involved, Mark Thomas, Tim Bloggerheads and the protesters themselves, including myself!
